Thank Me Later (update)

So I'm listening to the Drake cd it better than I expected. I hear alot of a few ppl saying they are disappointed but I think ppl confuse the radio/young money Drake w the real Drake. I appreciate the Young Money, but I fell in love w (musically) w the real Drake. The interspective Drake. The album reflected to my pleasant surprise. I was wondering what Drake we would have gotten, and I wouldn't have been made YMD, bt I was hoping for this. Like my husband said "I think he made the album he wanted to make".

Drake seems to be heavily influenced by Kanye, Jay, a little Em, and some Wayne for commercial purposes. All of which are positive, and all of which he does justice. I think he is slept on becuz he is so hyped up, but he deserves it. He is talented [.]  and yea there are alot of niggas who talented and what not but...who cares? WTF does that have do w his success. Stop hatin'.

Have a Sprite and a smile, and shut the fuck up.

Btw, I do wish that song "Made" was on here tho.

NY is Killing Me

"With Nas’ collaboration Distant Relatives album alongside Damian Marley on the way, we should expect more revolutionary type music from him. This one is taken from Gil Scott-Heron’s I’m New Here album released earlier this year. Even though the actual tempo of the beat isn’t your conventional rap track, Nas still adds that hip-hop flavor to it."
this shit is DOPE!

Song/Quote of the Day: Forgive The Father

Why every Indian wanna be the chief?/ Feed a man 'til he full and he still want beef/ Give me grief, try to tief off my piece/ Why for you to increase, I must decrease?/ If I treat you kindly, does it mean that I'm weak?/ You hear me speak and think I won't take it to the streets/ I know enough cats that don't turn the other cheek/ But I try to keep it civilized like Menelik/ and other African czars, observing stars with war scars/ Get yours in this capitalistic system/ So many caught or got bought you can't list them/ How you gonna idolize the missing?/ To survive is to stay alive in the face of opposition/ even when they comin, gunnin I stand position/ L's known the mission since conception/ Let's free the people from deception/ If you looking for the answers then you gotta ask the questions/ And when I let go, my voice echoes through the ghetto/ Sick of men trying to pull strings like Geppetto/ Why black people always be the ones to settle?/ March through these streets like Soweto, uhh//

Quote of the Day

"Uh, who shot Biggie Smalls/ If we don't get them/ They gonna get us all/ I'm down for runnin' up on them/ Crackers in they city hall/ We ride for y'all/ All my dogs stay real/ Nigga don't think these record deals/ Gonna feed your seeds/ And pay your bills because they not/ MC's get a little bit of love and think they hot/ Talkin' 'bout how much money they got/ Nigga all y'all records sound the same/ I sick of that fake thug, R & B/ Rap scenario all day on the radio/ Same scenes in the video, monotonous material/ Y'all don't here me though/ These record labels slang our tapes like dope/ You can be next in line, and signed/ And still be writing rhymes and broke/ You would rather have a Lexus or justice/ A dream or some substance/A Beamer, a necklace or freedom/ Still a nigga like me don't playa' hate/ I just stay awake/ This real hip-hop, and it don't stop/ 'Til we get the po-po off the block/ They call it...

Hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip
It's bigger than hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip"
