Song of the Day - Ground Zero by Lil Wayne

EXTRAS

ALBUM REVIEW

altho there are a few song on The Rebirth that i fux w/ my opinion of the album is that altho i feel Wayne's heart was in the right place, he us not really familiar w/ real Rock-n-Roll. He is more inspired by the idea of Rock-n-Roll rather than the actual art. and yes Rock-n-Roll is an artform, as well as a culture, just like Hip Hop. it seems that he looks @ rock as a fantasy of raging emotions and alternative appearance rather than that indescribable, pure entity that it just IS. besides the guitars and wayne's spirit this is far from a "rock" album, more like an Urban-Alternative album. I would actually be ok w/ it if that was the classification of it, or if they just didnt classify it @ all and were like "here. this is a new lil wayne album. its on some different shit. fuck w/ it."

Because to me its not what it should have been...but what im sure he will accomplish in the future w/ better understanding...i prefer No Ceilings.

that is all.

23. Dedication 4?????????

Basically, its a disappointment. he is an excellent rapper but i just dont get that feeling no more. i appreciate his evolution but i didnt see any of it here. "DEDICATED" leads me to believe that he is mainly showcasing his artist...who i like, so im not mad @ it, but like the Carter 3 its a let down. Dedication 2 is classic. but what can u do. YOUNG MONEY, right? (shout out to Corey Gunz)
