"Actually the full title of this song is “An Echo From the Hosts That Profess Infinitum” –which is not as long “Reaching A New Refutation of Time and Space” but is definitely weirder. In case you don’t get the connection, Shabazz Palaces is the newest project of Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler who first refuted time and space with the Digable Planets (there might be some other people in the group but he won’t say). In some ways the futuristic Palaces sound is a logical progression from the Planets alien conceit, if not their jazz fetish. But just to keep you guessing that conceit is replaced with an alternate-universe version of Islamic/Middle Eastern history, kind of an Afrocentric answer to what Peter Lamborn Wilson did with his Hakim Bey persona. Except Hakim Bey couldn’t rap."
