Monster banned

"MTV banned Kanye West 's Monster video cuz feminine activist insist that it portrays women as sex dolls and disposable objects n' such. Not to sound like a bore or anything but I agree with the ban, plus the video makes Ye look like a necrophiliac. Dead bodies cant be art.

'The mainstreaming of videos like this increases desensitized and callous attitudes toward violence against women,” said Reist, one of the campaign originators. “Young people are seeing images and absorbing harmful messages which glamorise misogyny and brutalise women. Women are reduced to sex-doll like playthings. So great is the level of desensitization that the barbaric treatment of women and girls is seen as normal and to be expected. We decided to run this campaign because we wanted to challenge the status quo.'" Source

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (review)

"When Kanye West sings about "jerk-offs that’ll never take work off," you’d best believe he means himself. Being crazy is this guy’s job, and judging from the sound of his music, business is booming. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is his most maniacally inspired music yet, coasting on heroic levels of dementia, pimping on top of Mount Olympus. Yeezy goes for the grandeur of stadium rock, the all-devouring sonics of hip-hop, the erotic gloss of disco, and he goes for all of it, all the time. Nobody halfway sane could have made this album." Runaway (film)

"When Kanye West spoke Friday evening at the New York screening of his mini-movie “Runaway,” he mentioned the film’s massive worldwide premier this Saturday reminded him of the way Michael Jackson used to premier his music videos on multiple channels. It would be an outrageous statement, if it wasn’t already true considering MTV, MTV2, BET, MTV.com, BET.com, and Vh1.com will air "Runaway" simultaneously at 8 p.m. EST.

What people can expect when they tune in this weekend is a film unlike anything they have ever seen. Kanye explained "Runaway" was a film made from the perspective of his five-year-old self, back when he “wasn’t told what to like, and wasn’t told what not to like.” The description was fitting to a tee."
