so my thoughts are...i luv how "they" (media and others) are acting as if crime and violence in Chicago is new. I remember hearing about how dangerous it was when i was a little girl. but what i luv most is how now that it has national attention "they" want to be o so concerned and put their best foot foward. for what?! to put a couple of misguided children in prision...which they were prolly already headed to neway. that "concern" is gonna last for all of a month. until the next tragedy happens to divert our attention and then just as quick as they came "they" will be gone. that little boy will still be dead. the security on the block will be gone. more strict rules will be put in place for the youth in that community but it will prolly make them feel more like the criminals than the victims. none of the proper avenues will be taken to really make this young boys death benefical to the upliftment of his community becuz the truth "they" could give a shit less.
